Take the next step in understanding
your IGF-1 level and your acromegaly

Your score cannot be calculated
If you don’t know which test was used to determine your current IGF-1 number, check your medical records or ask your healthcare provider for assistance.
Once you know the specific IGF-1 test used, click below to return to the previous screen.
We can’t calculate your score because we don’t have your test type
The calculator assesses results from the 2 most commonly used providers for diagnostic testing in the US, but there are other providers used for testing IGF-1 levels. You can help us improve by inputting your test provider below.
Understanding your test type
Labcorp uses the IDS-iSYS test while Quest Diagnostics uses a technique called LC-MS. These are 2 of the most common ways to determine IGF-1 levels.
IGF-1 levels can vary based on the test provider because each test uses its own normal range, depending on a person’s age and sex. Ask your healthcare provider which test was used to determine your IGF-1 level.
Understanding the upper limit of normal
What is the ULN?
The ULN is the highest number that’s still considered a normal result for a lab test based on your age, sex, and the type of test you received. Doctors use the ULN to help decide if your levels are too high. If your IGF-1 is at or below the ULN, it’s usually a sign that your acromegaly is under better control. If it’s above the ULN, it may mean your condition isn’t fully managed and that changes to your treatment could be required.
One main goal of acromegaly treatment is to bring your IGF-1 level down to the ULN, to help manage symptoms and prevent complications.
What your score tells you
Your IGF-1 calculator score will show you where your level is relative to the normal range, so you can see whether it’s low, within range, or elevated.
Where to find your IGF-1 level
Look under results online or in the lab documentation provided for a 2- to 4-digit number. This will be your IGF-1 level.
If you’re having trouble finding your results:
Visit Labcorp’s Patient Portal or Quest Diagnostics’ MyQuest Portal.
